This Thanksgiving season, it’s time to reflect on all that we’re thankful for. At Plymate, we have so much to be grateful for when it comes to the people and community that surround us. As a family-owned business for over 90 years, we greatly value our customers, team members, and the local Indiana community we serve. We wanted to take a moment to give thanks for their role in our continued success and growth.
Thankful for Our Incredible Customers
First and foremost, we appreciate our loyal customers. We’re proud to work with organizations of all sizes and industries, from manufacturing companies like Major Tool & Machine to healthcare facilities like Columbus Regional Hospital. These partnerships allow us to understand the unique needs of each business and provide tailored solutions through our uniform rental, floor mat, and facility service programs.
We have 96% year-over-year customer retention, showing that our clients continue to see value in partnering with us. Additionally, 97% of uniform customers surveyed by Hendrickson/Market Measurement in 2021 gave us “favorable” marks.
Major Tool & Machine (MTM) is a manufacturer for many industries. They’ve grown from 325 to over 400 employees, which means they needed a uniform rental provider that can grow with them. We worked hard and adapted uniform fittings, invoicing, and changeovers to make their rental program as easy as possible for all their employees.
We’ve loved partnering with Columbus Regional Health from the very start. Their exceptional service, ethics, and diligence in delivering compassionate care shine through in all they do. We were honored to implement our microfiber cleaning program across their facilities, helping reduce germ spread. The Columbus Regional team constantly impresses us with their commitment to fostering safe, welcoming environments – we couldn’t ask for better partners in the healthcare space!
Curry Auto Center came to us struggling with endless uniform shortages and headaches. Eager to help a fellow family-owned business, we implemented a customized automated system to fix their issues. No more frustrations for Curry – just reliable stock and service. We cherish maintaining personal ties between partners.

Lastly, we could not do anything without our team members here at Plymate. We’re thankful for their hard work, initiative, and commitment to our core values of integrity, stewardship, and service. Our team members are the reason we’re able to deliver high-quality services that our customers expect. While every one of our Plymate team members deserves recognition, here are a few who continue to impress us each and every day.
As a route specialist, Dusty Stevens knows the ins and outs of his route. He is a great communicator who isn’t afraid to ask questions – an important trait for being successful in his role. Dusty is always willing to help others and has an amazing work ethic.
Theresa Hopper and Jennifer Miller are administrative professionals. They have great attitudes and are always looking for ways to improve the processes and experiences at Plymate. They consistently offer help across departments and are always flexible. We appreciate their efforts to pivot and stay on top of things.
Thankful for Our Vibrant Local Community
Lastly, we’re thankful for the opportunity to be part of the Shelbyville, Indiana community. For over 90 years we have been a local company in Indiana, committed to creating a thriving environment for all local businesses.
We support organizations like SCUFFY (Shelby County United Fund for You), which improves the quality of life in Shelby County by mobilizing volunteers and donors.
We also partner with the First Church of God on their annual Bundle Up winter coat drive, a collaboration we’ve proudly maintained since 2016. While the First Church of God is responsible for collecting and distributing the coats, our role at Plymate is crucial in ensuring these coats are clean and fresh for their new owners. Each year, we launder all the donated coats, playing our part in providing 200-300 clean and ready-to-wear coats to local families in need. This joint effort exemplifies our commitment to serving and enhancing our community in meaningful ways.
Being a local company enables us to build meaningful relationships with customers and make a positive impact right here in Indiana. We look forward to continuing to serve this community for generations to come.
