This Year’s James T. Plymate Scholarship Recipient

One of our favorite annual traditions is to award a student with the James T. Plymate Scholarship in memory of our company’s second generation president and owner. The scholarship is awarded to a child, stepchild, or grandchild of a current Plymate co-worker who puts forth outstanding effort and exemplifies leadership among their peers. We are excited to announce this year’s winner, Triton Central High School senior Emily LeMasters!

Emily graduated from TCHS this year with a 3.7 GPA and in the top 25% of her class. Other accomplishments include being Class President, Student Council President, a National Honor Society Member, playing on varsity tennis and volleyball teams, volleyball team captain, ICC Volleyball All-Conference, All Shelby County Volleyball Team, and four-time volleyball county champion. She’s also worked throughout her high school career as a pet sitter, babysitter, and house cleaner. Emily’s teachers describe her as someone with integrity, a competitive drive, compassionate spirit, and true leadership skills.

We wish Emily the best of luck this fall at the University of Southern Indiana as she pursues a career as a dental hygienist. Congrats on earning the James T. Plymate award! We look forward to seeing everything your future holds.

The James T. Plymate Scholarship fund was created in 1997. Since its inception, Plymate has given out $40,000 in scholarship funds to the children, step children, and grandchildren of Plymate co-workers. Chosen by a third party not affiliated with Plymate, a student seeking post high school education is chosen based on grades, extracurricular activities, teacher and counselor recommendations, and applicant essay.
