Giving Back is Sweet: Plymate’s Community Involvement

There’s a lot beyond our doors.

We’ve recognized since the beginning that Plymate is part of a larger community here in Central Indiana. On a very practical level, we exist to provide uniform and floor mat rental services. If you take a step back, our deeper goal is to help businesses and individuals get what they need, and develop real relationships with real people in the process. And taking another step back, we want to be a contributor to the wellbeing of our entire community and positively impact the quality of life here.

To that end, there are some amazing organizations who work to make Shelby County a strong community. And we love any opportunity to join them!

A Smashing Success

Back in January, our Plymate family began raising funds for SCUFFY (Shelby County United Fund for You). We set up two jars and collected donations to smash an entire pie in the face of two of our managers (which we did). At our recent quarterly meeting we covered a lot of ground, including adding Katie Rowland as another lucky manager to get a pie to the face! She volunteered for an additional $100 to go toward SCUFFY contributions. Plus, our IT manager chipped in an extra $50 to be the one to throw the pie!

In addition to SCUFFY, Plymate is also proud to support Toys for Tots through the Salvation Army. Co-workers donate toys and age-appropriate clothing to support families in our county. We also sponsor a family by providing toys, clothing, and food each year through various organizations. This year, we sponsored a family through CASA. Additionally, Plymate shareholders make annual contributions to the Shelby County Boys and Girls Club and Blue River Foundation.

It’s a pleasure giving back to the community that’s embraced Plymate since 1930. We’re  honored to invest in the good work and efforts of those around us, who make this a great place to live and work!
